RíOrganized: Jen Atkin’s Beauty Closet

When you get an inquiry from Jen Atkin 10 hours after giving birth to your son, the only logical thing to do is ask “When do you need me?” I knew this was going to be an incredible opportunity for me and that this project could really change EVERYTHING...I love being right. I am forever grateful for this woman and the (many) doors she opened for me and my business. Jen is a gosh darn unicorn. The most kind, humble, and giving person on the planet. I mean, she warmed a bran muffin for me and made me take a break, who does that?? Just the best.

We knocked out multiple spaces in Jen’s home, but the space everyone was most excited about was the beauty closet.

Fun fact: The internet never saw the first beauty closet transformation. Yes, that’s right, we’ve actually done a couple beauty closet transformations for Jen. The original goal was for the space to be a functional hair supplies and accessories closet. We categorized everything and set it up in a way that would make the daily projects for her team a breeze. Here’s what it looked it:

Then, that night, Jen sent me a text saying she wanted to bring all of her beauty stuff down to that closet and create something that would bring the WOW factor.

Challenge accepted!

I showed up to her house to see a floor covered in color coordinated hair supplies, perfumes, skincare, etc. I brought tons of products I knew would create the space of her dreams--acrylic shelves, tiered risers, turntables, and two-tiered turntables.

This project was a heavier emphasis on the aesthetic. It was a design project and I was here for it.

Jen knew her products by color already so it made sense to keep this system. As soon as she left for her two hour workout, I dug in! Her reaction when she returned was seriously everything. All that was left were a few final touches Jen added to showcase brands she loved and the space was complete. Seriously, how satisfying are these pictures? Her space isn’t just organized, it’s extremely aesthetically pleasing, which is always a great bonus.

One Year Later…

Jen texts me that she has moved her makeup to the other side of the beauty closet because she wants to display it and wanted my help to get it organized, functional and beautiful! I came over (mask and all) to complete this epic space. I brought so many different organization products to choose from and customize the space that would make the most sense for Jen to see, access and actually use her items.
