Dialing in Your Skincare Storage

Skincare routines are ESSENTIAL - whether they’re morning or nighttime, daily or weekly. The best way to start and KEEP a routine is to get organized! Create a skincare space somewhere easily accessible that is already part of your typical routine. This could be your bathroom countertop, under the sink, in a beauty closet, or anywhere else that works for you.

The first step to dialing in a space is always to completely empty EVERYTHING out of your space, 100%. You really need to see the space you have to work with so that you can space plan and choose products that will simplify your routine.

PRO TIP:

Always space plan BEFORE purchasing product! The biggest mistake you can make is to buy product first and try to force your items to work with what you purchased instead of the other way around. Products need to be intentional for the space you HAVE, not the space you WANT. Purposeful product purchasing will save you time and money!

Keep your skincare set up simple and efficient, and make the most out of your space with product that makes sense!

FUNCTIONALITY OVER AESTHETICS, ALWAYS!

Figure out what skincare items you will use routinely - this is the time to get rid of items you know you aren’t going to use and give your daily products the prime real estate! You need your most-used products to be accessible to help you move through your morning & night routines efficiently. Since I use my Algenist Blue Agave Vitamin C Skinclarity Brightening Serum morning and night, I know it should be front and center. Separating your items by when you use them will help stay on top of your routine and keep your bathroom system streamlined.

TURNTABLES

Divided or two-tier turntables can create a system on the counter. These are game-changers! Using the divided sections or double tiers can create an easy system for different routine schedules.

DRAWER ORGANIZERS

If you don’t have much space in your bathroom on your counter, drawer storage products can be really important to separate products and keep things visible and organized. Labels can be easily added to the sides of the drawer to help maintain order.

FLOATING SHELVES

Adding shelving can make usable space on vacant walls. It basically creates an entirely new area for products in a spot that was otherwise going unused. If you are limited on storage space, create space where it didn’t exist!

STACKING BINS

If you have cabinets to utilize, stacking bins can maximize vertical space. Keep your essential skincare products in top bins for easier access and label EVERY BIN to avoid losing track of items.
