Hi! Ría here--the owner of RíOrganize. As our first official blog post, I thought it would be fun to tell you all a little bit about myself.
I’m a second generation Cuban-American born and raised in Southern California. I am the oldest child and have three incredible brothers and two amazing parents that shaped us to be driven, passionate and fiercely loyal individuals. I feel every family member has attributed to where I am today, especially my grandfathers. My Bapa is the definition of a workhorse and my Abuelo was the prime example of sacrificing everything to give his family the opportunity of the American Dream.
I may have been born a SoCal girl, but college at Texas Christian University made me a Southern woman. Moving out of state for school was my first giant leap (pun intended, Go Frogs!) of faith in life and the best decision I ever made. Texas brought me incredible friends, amazing opportunities and last but not least, the love of my life, Conner.
Houston was my home after graduation. I began dating Conner, who I initially met at TCU, and also started a new job with a top real estate firm as an assistant and marketing coordinator. Life started to move fast! I blinked and was now a married woman and one of the youngest female Industrial brokers in Houston. On top of all that, we welcomed our first daughter, Landry Rae.
Queue second giant leap of faith--moving to California and starting a business. The opportunity to move back home changed everything. It gave me a chance to reevaluate what I was doing and what I was meant to do. There, on the backburner, was an idea I had just out of college--RíOrganize. It took some time to convince Conner that I should leave such an incredible company and position to pursue “organizing pantries and closets,” but I don’t back down easy and can be pretty persistent. I needed to be doing something that was worth it to me to be away from my girls. I needed to be helping people. I needed something that would allow me to use my creativity. I needed to be changing lives. RíOrganize was born in March of 2016 and has been gaining momentum ever since!
2017 was a year for the books! We had our second daughter, Sawyer Michele, bought our first home and welcomed our golden retriever, Tex. Juggling two kids, a dog and a business is no task for the weary. The momtrepreneur life has only further proven to me the importance of simple, functional and maintainable organizational systems. My goal is to bring beauty and simplicity to every space for all of our clients!
